The South Sea Pearl

Rosendorff choose to furnish the majority of their settings with Australian South Sea Pearls, which are farmed in the pristine waters off northern Western Australia, the focal point being the town of Broome. The climate, water temperature, tidal movements, nutritious and pollution free waters provide the perfect environment for the consummate pearl producing oyster, “Pinctada Maxima.” This oyster produces the largest, finest pearls in the world, with an average diameter of 8mm to 18mm.

The South Sea Pearl is unquestionably the world’s premium pearl, renowned for its lustre (the mirror like finish) and candescence. They typically come in “round” or “drop” shapes and their colouring is predominantly silver to white, although they occasionally appear in pink gold or blue.

These pearls are of such high quality that no tinting, dying, bleaching or skinning is ever required. The oyster shell is prized open and the beauty of sheer perfection is revealed. A lovingly crafted masterpiece, courtesy of fate, time and nature. The South Sea Pearl is regarded as the “Queen Of Pearls” and held in high esteem, Rosendorff showcase her regal standing with beautiful settings befitting royalty.
